Michelle Barker

General Counsel, AMC

Michelle Barker is the general counsel of Affiliates Management Company (AMC). Michelle leads the legal team for the AMC family of companies, which includes ViClarity. 

Michelle provides company-wide contract management, human resource legal support, intellectual property strategies, and manages other legal and regulatory risk mitigation activities. Prior to joining AMC, Michelle was Assistant Vice President and Senior Counsel of Lincoln Financial Group where she worked for the past four years. Previously, she was VP and General Counsel of American Enterprise Group/American Republic Insurance, a diversified mutual insurance company based in Des Moines, where she worked in various leadership positions within their legal team over eight years. Prior to her time at American Republic, Michelle spent eight years as an attorney/partner at a small private practice in Des Moines. She holds her Juris Doctorate with distinction and BA from the University of Iowa.
